Listing shot-list generator

Tell it about the house and it builds the shot list I'd use, in the order I'd shoot it, with a suggested photo count. Print it or copy it to your phone. It runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.

How the list is built

It follows the order I shoot every house in: front exterior first while the light is good, then the entry, living spaces, kitchen, dining, primary suite, other bedrooms and baths, bonus rooms, and finally the back of the house and the yard. Main rooms get two or three angles; secondary bedrooms and bathrooms get one clean shot each.

Shots marked optional are worth taking only if that space is a selling point. That's why the photo count is a range: the low end is the essentials, the high end includes every optional shot.

Why shoot more than you keep

I shoot about one and a half times the final count. A second angle or a retake after you notice a stray towel is far cheaper than a return trip. Pick the best frame of each shot when you sit down to choose.

Check your MLS limit

Your MLS may cap how many photos you can upload, and the count here doesn't know your MLS. If the list runs long, drop optional shots first, then near-duplicates.

The full reasoning behind each room is in how many listing photos you need, with a shot list by room. Before photo day, send the seller the photo prep checklist.

Shooting the list yourself on an iPhone? Listing Camera, the app I built, enhances each photo's light and color in the background while you move to the next shot, about 30 to 40 seconds per photo, and organizes the set by address. It doesn't stage or change the home. Free to try with 3 enhancements.

FAQ

Quick answers

How many photos does the generator suggest?

It counts one keeper per shot on the list and gives a range: the essentials at the low end, every optional shot at the high end. It also suggests shooting about one and a half times that so you have choices.

Can I print the shot list?

Yes. Press Print shot list and you get a clean checklist without the form or site navigation. You can also copy it as plain text.

Is any information I enter sent anywhere?

No. The generator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to Listing Camera or anyone else.

What order should I take listing photos in?

Front exterior first while the light is good, then entry, living spaces, kitchen, dining, the primary suite, other bedrooms and bathrooms, bonus rooms, and the back exterior and yard.
